Becoming a Client

The process by which someone becomes a client is very measured and deliberate so that the firm can be assured that your needs and rights are maximized. No matter what your immigration and naturalization issue may be, please do not hesitate to contact us to at least evaluate your situation and whether or not we can help you.

When a potential client contacts the firm, he or she either speaks to one of our attorneys or a member of our highly-qualified and experienced staff to ascertain the nature of the immigration issue. If there is a mutual interest in meeting, an in-person (or telephonic) consultation is scheduled. A retainer agreement is sent out to every client after the consultation.

In preparation for the initial consultation, it would be of great help in regards to the entire legal process if you could bring any or all of the following that may pertain to your situation:

  • Any correspondence from the federal government, including:
    • The Department of Justice (D.O.J.)
    • The Internal Revenue Service (I.R.S.)
    • The Immigration and Naturalization Service (I.N.S.)
    • Federal Bureau of Investigation (F.B.I.)
  • Any tax returns
  • Birth Certificates
  • Any type of identification
    • Driver's License
    • Social Security Card
    • Work Permit
    • "Green" Card
    • Visas, both expired and non-expired
  • Statements from your employer
  • Medical records
  • Any other materials that you are advised to bring

Once a retainer agreement is signed, you may simply allow the firm to handle the issue at hand. There is no need to continue to worry, and there is no need to deal directly with the government after Meyner and Landis LLP takes your case. They are here to serve you, and will use their experience and reputation to protect your rights.

The firm also has the ability to communicate in English, Spanish, Portuguese, Polish and Russian, so feel free to contact us regardless of your first language.
